Cushing's syndrome: right adrenal adenoma demonstrated by CT.
Adrenal adenomas causing Cushing's syndrome are usually 2-5cm in size. They are readily detected by CT because of the contrast provided by the abundant retroperitoneal fat which is present in most patients. This scan shows a 3.5cm rounded mass in the right adrenal gland. It lies immediately behind the IVC and between the liver and the right crus of the diaphragm.
